Hello, I'm Susan Wilk
I am committed to teaching people how to change the way they respond to stress for the better. I am passionate about empowering my clients to live fuller lives and improve overall well-being. I have over 20 years’ experience teaching meditation and stress management. Drawing on that experience, I’ve created a program that supports our bodies, minds, and spirits. I work with my clients to design a practice that works for each of them.
In my work, I’ve helped people overcome anxiety and panic attacks; improve family relationships; weight issues; hypertension, sleep issues; anxieties surrounding academic performance; and deal with grief, trauma, chronic pain, and more. Does any of that sound familiar?
I would love to work with you and show you how my approach can help you. I’ve designed an integrative approach. Because of its amazing range of physical, mental, and emotional benefits, the cornerstone of my program is meditation. I am a firm believer that everyone can meditate – easily. It’s a matter of the finding techniques and creating a practice that works for you and your life. I know that one size doesn’t fit all. In fact, one size doesn’t fit the same person from day to day based on what’s going on in our lives, so I’ll help you with that, too.
I’ll also teach you simple ways to change your response to stress by becoming mindful of how and what we think – our habitual patterns. We can change that to our advantage. We can also take simple “lifestyle” steps to support ourselves physically. All of this is possible. I will work with you to discover the best path for you, and I will support you personally as you walk it.
My story:
I was introduced to meditation in a time of deep grief after the sudden death of my mother. I was struggling and finding it hard to function in my job and in my personal relationships. Meditation was a tremendous ally in dealing with that grief.
I later discovered that meditation helped with my overall sense of well-being. It helped in all aspects of my daily life. I was less judgmental, more compassionate – with myself as well as others, and could concentrate more deeply.
Meditation helped me in my job as a corporate and securities attorney. My focus was sharper, and because I was more centered and grounded, stress did not affect me to the same degree. I shared the process with our team, and they felt the difference, too, in their personal and professional lives.
I began teaching small groups locally, and eventually obtained extensive training to become a certified instructor. I joined the staff of my local hospital’s wellness program. I taught people from all walks of life, at different stages of life, all with the desire to reduce the negative impact of stress on their lives. No matter how the stress manifested, they found relief. I am here to do the same for you.
